When it’s cold in the winter, and, let’s face it, when the sun hits those red bricks in the summer and temperatures heat up, sometimes ordering in is the way to go. Avoid braving the elements and that crowded T stop by ordering in from some of Boston’s favorite local spots from Caviar. In a matter of minutes, the bounty of Boston’s food scene can start making its way to your front door.

Area Four
At Area Four’s Cambridge location, choose from an assortment of tempting pizzas, like the “not pepperoni” pie made with sopressata, the mushroom and fontina pie, or, if you’re feeling daring, the clam and bacon pie. For an extra kick, order a side of the garlic knots tossed in marinara, melted mozzarella, pecorino, gremolata, and garlic butter. (Bonus: Area Four's new South End spot is also available on Caviar.)
Stephi's in Southie
No one can decide on what they want for dinner? If you want options, you’ll find them at Stephi’s: The menu leans toward comfort food, but features a broad range of homestyle dishes — order a warm goat cheese and sesame roasted beet salad, Thai lettuce wraps, and a Cuban sandwich.
Coppa
Coppa Enoteca’s Italian small plates mean more choices for you: Create your own platter of meats and cheeses to share, or sample the burrata, beef crostini, or fried risotto and fontal balls. For a heartier experience, order some of the more creative entrees, like the lasagna with prosciutto béchamel and kale or the bone marrow pizza.
Bon Me
Bon Me, a small, local business and sustainable food truck operation, plays on the classic Vietnamese bánh mì sandwich for more inspired riffs. Order the Bon Me sandwich, close to the traditional bánh mi and made with a housemade spicy mayo and housemade pork paté. Other options on the menu? An assortment of rice bowls and noodle dishes for which you can choose your protein, and combos like the roasted soy-and-paprika tofu atop soba noodles.
Manoa Poke Shop
Manoa Poke keeps it simple, just how poke is supposed to be. Choose your size (regular, big bowl, or lil’ bowl) and choose your poke type — tuna, salmon, the catch of the day, or tofu — and all the marinades and toppings you could want. Can’t decide? Order the poke flight for a tasting platter. Mix and match your traditional sides, like kimchi cucumber and papaya salad, and enjoy a taste of Hawaii in the northeast.
Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar
The fare from Loco Taqueria borders on the loco side of things: Duck taquitos with plum sauce, bacon guacamole, and root beer-braised chicken tacos are just some of the inventive dishes you can order. There’s still plenty to order for the less adventurous eaters, like the guacamole sans bacon, carne asada tacos, and chicken enchiladas. No matter what, order the Mexican street corn to start — it’s smothered in garlic and chili mojo sauce, cotija cheese, and Aleppo pepper.
Myers + Chang
If you want buns and noodles without the food coma, opt for Myers + Chang, where lighter sauces and original dishes are top priority. Taking inspiration from Taiwanese soul food and Southeast Asian street food, the menu is full of fresh flavors, like papaya salad and sweet and sour brussels sprouts. If you want to leave it to the professionals, order Mama Chang's pork and chive dumplings.

Chicken & Rice Guys
Simple but hearty, chicken and rice is it — and the owners of Chicken & Rice Guys brick-and-mortar restaurant, food truck, and catering businesses know a thing or two about it. Order your style, filling, extras, and sauce to make your own perfect combo. Dress up either a rice plate or a salad plate with Halal chicken, gyro, baked tofu, or a chicken and gyro combo, plus veggies, pita, and your choice of sauces: creamy garlic, barbecue, nice spice, naughty spice, or a mint, cilantro, and jalapeño combination.
Douzo
Order for your sushi favorites from Douzo, from salmon to sea urchin, or experiment with specialty rolls that draw on local flavors. Try the Backbay roll: asparagus, cucumber, and avocado wrapped with seared tuna and a touch of wasabi mayo. You can even try some of the sweeter sushi on the menu, like the scallop kiwi roll — yes, it really does have kiwi in it.
Toro Restaurant
Chefs Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonnette bring a little Barcelona inspiration to Boston with their tapas. Premium cured Spanish hams, a pressed uni sandwich, Spanish tuna belly, marinated olives, and a smoked eggplant dish are all within reach when ordering from Toro. The mejillones, mussels with chorizo and Basque cider, are something to order if you aren’t into ham. Vegetarians, don’t despair: Try the escalivada catalana, a dish of smoked eggplant, onions, peppers, and tomatoes with sherry vinegar and olive oil.
