The Gardein Extra Indulgent Plant-Based Recipe Challenge

When we think of rich, filling, over-the-top meals, we often assume they’re made with meat. So is it possible to create a plant-based dish so delicious and satisfying it could make even the most hardcore meat eaters come back for seconds?

To answer that question, we’re challenging some of our favorite foodies to create the most indulgent plant-based version of a classic comfort food recipe — all with the help of Gardein and their delicious range of plant-based alternatives.

The Contenders

First up is Jordan Andino, aka @fork_knife. Jordan is a food personality and the executive chef at Flip Sigi, a Filipino taqueria in NYC where he brings flavors from his upbringing and marries them with popular Mexican cuisine. A self-proclaimed meat lover, Jordan will create a plant-based version of an extra indulgent burger recipe that’s sure to appeal to both meat eaters and vegans alike, using the Gardein Ultimate Plant-Based Burger.

Next we have Chris Petrellese and Jasmine Briones, the pair behind @sweetsimplevegan. They created their platform to share delicious vegan recipes and plant-based food content with their audience of like-minded eaters. For this challenge, Chris and Jasmine will create a plant-based version of a classic Italian comfort food, using Gardein Beefless Ground.
