The Deep End Los Angeles

Two days of unfiltered storytelling, live podcasts, musical spotlights, and Eater-curated food and drink in the heart of DTLA.

At SXSW 2019, we had more than 6,000 highly passionate creators, industry insiders, marketers, influencers, and press join us at The Deep End to go deeper into the world of tech, politics, sports, food, and entertainment — a 30 percent YOY increase in attendance from 2018. Ninety-two percent of our attendees reported a positive experience at TDE and 45 percent reported staying two to five hours at The Deep End. Now, we’re taking it to Los Angeles.

Concept

The Deep End is where industry leaders will not discuss just the what, but the why. Where you see what your favorite podcast hosts actually look like. Where you rediscover your passion for video games, experience the depth of emotion that comes from being a sports fan, and eat your way through the most inspiring restaurants in the city. The Deep End is where networking becomes connecting, where you — and even us — will feel challenged.

We built The Deep End at SXSW to create an immersive experience designed to ignite curiosity, encourage discovery, connect communities and bring our audience deeper into their passion points. This September, The Deep End by Vox Media is going to Los Angeles to feed our audience’s obsession by defining what is next in food, tech, sports and more.

Why LA? The city of Los Angeles delivers authentic and curious audiences across passion points in culinary, gaming, tech, entertainment, and news. The people of Los Angeles drive cultural trends across the board, and the rest of the country takes notice. Plus, Vox Media has three hyper-local communities and on-the-ground editors in LA: Curbed, Eater, & SB Nation.

With two days of live podcasts, food demos, tastings with new restaurants, previews of gadgets and cookbooks, and everything you need to know about the NFL & NBA, The Deep End by Vox Media will take Los Angeles to continue to drive our audience to go deeper into their passion points.
