It’s the PepsiCo Game Day Grub Match, where three NFL stars-turned-amateur-chefs compete to create the ultimate game day dishes. Expect: grilling, braising, begging, sobbing, salsa (the dance and the dip) and a lot of game day-inspired dishes. The winner of the competition will receive $25,000 to donate to a food bank in the city of his choice, plus the chance to have one of his winning dishes featured on the Mall of America Buffalo Wild Wings menu during Super Bowl LII weekend.
Kicking off (pun intended) the competition is the Hometown Challenge. In this episode, the athletes must cook a meal inspired by their hometowns, using two PepsiCo products as ingredients, in just 30 minutes. Watch them have at it in the video above, and follow the rest of the competition with episodes two and three.

Who won this round?
The flavor was brought in this round: Mangold made a Cincinnati classic, chili topped with Fritos, while Rashad Jennings made a spicy Buffalo bison burger filled with cheesy queso center. But ultimately, it was Greg Jennings’s Sweet and Tangy Brat Sandwiches that won out this round, thanks to the combination of flavors from the Mountain Dew and beer used to braise the brats. But will he remain the champion in the next challenge? Click to watch episode two of PepsiCo Game Day Grub Match.
